Trekking in the Middle Atlas

The Mid Atlas trek offers a choice of 3 or 5 days exploring some of the most remote villages in the region. The route takes you alongside rivers, lakes, and gorges, with stunning views of the Middle Atlas Mountains as your backdrop.

The trek follows a linear route, with accommodations including a mix of gîtes and camping.

Upon returning to Fes or Meknes, you’ll have the opportunity to explore local souks, food markets, and historic palaces.

Day 1 Casablanca-Fes
Casablanca-Arrival
Upon arrival at Casablanca Airport, you will be welcomed by our chauffeur. We will start with a visit to the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Africa.

Afterward, we will transfer to Fes. Check in at your riad and spend the night there.
Day 2 Ain Leuh
Ain Leuh
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to the town of Ain Leuh, the starting point for our Middle Atlas trek. Upon arrival, meet with our mule crew and enjoy lunch on-site. In the afternoon, we’ll visit a gazelle nature reserve.

Overnight will be either in Ain Leuh or at a camp located 2 kilometers outside the town in Ajaabou.

Day 4 Royal Park Kissarit- Zaouiyate ifrane

Experience the stunning views of the village of Zaouia, set against a backdrop of Mediterranean climate and lush vegetation. Marvel at the splendid landscapes, including the Zaouia cliffs and waterfalls, as well as the wadi Ifrane river. Explore the traditional adobe architecture of the village and visit its notable caves.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at a camp or gîte.
Day 5 Zaouiyate ifrane - Lake Ouiouane

We move towards the sources which feed Zaouiat then we will climb in the middle of herds of sheep.

Day 6 Lake Ouiouane - Oum rabiaa Valley

Day 7 Oum Rabiaa - Fes

We’ll pack up our final tent and meet our transport in the village of Oum Rabia for the journey back to Fez. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel. You’ll have the rest of the day free for leisure.

Overnight at your hotel.
Day 8 Fes - Casablanca
Fes - Casablanca
After breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Fes. Visit the Old Medina, the Karaouine Mosque, the Attarin Madrasa, and the famous Nejjarine Fountain.

After exploring Fes, check out of your hotel and transfer back to Casablanca. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel.

In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at a restaurant. Overnight at your hotel.
